Jennifer Teaches Classic Cocktail with a Twist- the Rum Old Fasioned
Friends asked me to tech help something fun, so here is a variation on one of the oldest, simplest craft cocktails. Instead of standard bourbon in the Old Fashioned, I used a favorite lightly aged rum
Alas, I had to cut the clip that explains that rum is a bit more like wine than whiskey. It takes on characteristics of the location and culture where itβs from, as well as what sugar product it is distilled from. Big differences between rums made from molasses vs sugar cane derivative or pure light sugar cane; different from the former French vs Spanish vs British colony territories. Itβs lower proof than many whiskies, interesting flavors, and price points under $30 for good aged rums.
So journey with me to create a simple and classy cocktail, then make it your own!
Cheers! π₯
