Interesting … I don’t think this is a widely known, everyone agrees, kind of acronym. I’ve seen it mean something totally different in internet text slang for kids (sibling alert).

In Urban Dictionary and texting “dictionaries” that’s the only generally agreed meaning and it doesn’t make sense here – other meanings are all over the map depending on situation, industry, etc.

Guessing something ‘alert’ – but I’d have your friendly gently ask for clarification.
